Finding your next lawyer is fast and oh-so simple

Post your job

After registering as a user with Consensus, you can post a job online. We’ll help you get started with this by providing some suggested categories - or, you can select a ‘special issue’ if none of the categories feel like the right fit. When you post a job, it’s helpful if you can provide as much detail as possible so that lawyers can provide the best proposals for you.

Your information is treated with strict security and confidentiality. Only lawyers whose expertise matches your issue will be shown. All lawyers on Consensus are verified as registered with the New Zealand Law Society, giving you peace of mind.

Receive proposals

Lawyers who work in the area of your job will prepare and submit proposals. All proposals on Consensus come with a fixed-fee – the total price you will pay the lawyer for the work outlined, including disbursements. That means you know exactly what you’ll pay before any work begins, with no hidden extras.

When you receive multiple proposals from different lawyers, it gives you the benefit of comparing experience, location, time to complete the job and, of course, price.

Select a proposal

Once you find a proposal that suits you, simply click to accept it. Your lawyer will get in touch and begin work on your job.

Chat and share documents securely with your lawyer in real time right inside your Consensus dashboard.

You pay your lawyer only once your job is complete, and you pay nothing to Consensus.
